Overview
This fictional campaign is based on the real MINUSCA mission in the Central African Republic, particularly the Portuguese Armed Forces intervention. Years of civil war have left the country in ruins, the UN mission seeks to regain control of the region by achieving the following objectives:
- Facilitate humanitarian assistance;
- Promotion and protection of human rights;
- Support for justice and the rule of law;
- Disarmament;
- Demobilization;
- Reintegration;
In order to achieve these goals a blockade must be setup on the Sudan and South Sudan border from where hundreds of rebel troops move into the country to wage war. That will be the focus of this campaign.
Region
The area of operations is in the region of Niakala, a barren place with only 1 airfield and 2 towns. The region is on the border with Sudan and South Sudan making it one of the biggest entry points for new rebel troops. The area is currently under rebel control, they occupy the southern airfield and the 2 biggest towns (Shwasana and Pala). In order to stabilize the country Niakala must be secured.

Factions
There will be a total of 3 different factions fighting in the area of operations:
The Portuguese Armed Forces, a small lightweight paratrooper detachment of the 1ºQRF/MINUSCA.
The local government troops, freshly recruited with some UN lended equipment and vehicles.
The Islamist Sékéla Rebels who have occupied the region and are being aided by South Sudan militias.
Campaign Phases
The campaign will be split into 3 phases:
- Securing a base of operations, intel reports the southern airfield is the most suitable position to setup a base in the area. In order to do that the airfield must be taken from the rebels. This will be the first step.
- Gathering Intel and destroying rebel caches. After a base of operations has been secured patrols will be sent out to gather intel of the enemy presence in the area and to find and destroy any weapon/ammunition caches.
- Identify and Capture HVTs. With the intel gathered identify the leaders of the local rebel movement and proceed to capture/kill them in order to scatter the rebel troops and force them to move back to the South Sudan borders.
Logistics/Equipment
Alot of resources are being directed to other areas of the country not leaving much for this AO. After the first phase of the campaign has been sucessfully achieved equipment will be brought in by land and air. The equipment will specified once the second phase is in motion.
